Luge Rides in Rotorua – Awesome!

Yesterday I landed in New Zealand!  It was 13 hours on the plane.  I landed in Auckland a big city in New Zealand.  I went to the Ripcurl shop and then went to a sports bar to have lunch.  I asked for root beer and they gave me ginger beer. Ginger beer is like root beer except with ginger in it.

I went to the end of the harbor and then we went to the Auckland Museum. I saw a canoe that the Maori used, and it could hold up to 100 people!  The Maori are native people of New Zealand and I will see them tonight at one of their tribal ceremonies.

Today we drove 2 hours  to Rotorua.  We went on the Skyline gondola and we did luge rides.  Luging rides are like go-carting at full speed down a mountain side. I flew off little jumps and sharp bumpy turns with lots of hills. It was so fun!

I will go to the Maori village to see a ceremony tonight. They have tattoos on their lips and all over their body. Tomorrow we will go see the hot springs sprout out of the ground.

Oh and by the way, I forgot to tell you that Rotorua smells like rotten eggs because of the sulphur from the hot springs. Hahaha…

Later Skater!
